This is an explanation of how to use the Dice Roller.
Step 1: When you are looking to perform an action that requires a Die Roll, open up a reply instead of doing a quick reply.
Step 2: Type the action you intend to perform. please use detailed writing. experience points are awarded for quality writing among other things.
Step 3: once you have typed up the action you wish to perform, determine what the die pool will be using the rulebook or contacting me. once you have determined what the die pool will be consult the dices roll found below the reply box. It should look like this:
Die Pool
Die Pool #1 : [box1] Dice Rolls: [box2] [+]
Explanation of Boxes:
* box 1 = what kind of die you are rolling, it contains a drop down menu of all die available. currently the only available die is a D10, which should be the only die you actually need for the game. I will add more if more are needed.
* box 2 = how many die you are rolling. by default it says one, but you can type just about any number into it. the die roll will then provide you with each individual dies roll. if you need to add things together that must be done manually.
the + lets you add a Die Pool #2 (and #3 for the next, and so on) to the post. each of these will be a separate roll, giving a separate total for each roll.
Step #4: fill out the die pool with the appropriate numbers, then post your reply. return to the thread. Below your post will be a SEPARATE POST containing your die rolls. If you are able to write the outcome of the action without me, feel free to do a follow up reply with what happens based on the outcome of your roll (this is the only time it is encouraged to double post). if it is something you need me to inform you what occurs (like for example a perception check) please wait for me to post a reply of what occurs based on your roll.
Below I've provided a sample die roll so you'll know what it looks like when rolled.
WARNING: I have the option to turn on and off BBCode for Die Rolls, making it so you can roll die simply by using [dice] [/dice]. If BBCode is turned on for Die Rolls you CANNOT edit a post that you performed the die roll in. Editing the post will result in the die being rerolled. I will only accept the die results I can see. Currently I do NOT have BBCode turned on, so you CAN edit posts with Die Rolls. If I deem that using BBCode is easier, I will WARN everyone before hand.
